Addressing the Impact of the Phasing out of Textiles and Clothing Quotas on Nepal
The overall goal of the project was to contribute to address Nepal’s human development challenges through promotion of external trade. The project comprised of various research and advocacy activities. The research included Human Development Impact Assessment in the Post ATC Period, Export Diversification and Value Addition, Creating a Conducive Trade and Industrial Policy Environment in Nepal and Capacity Enhancement of Trade Negotiators. Along with research, the idea of conducting advocacy programmes was to bring changes in the practices of the stakeholders, mainly the government so that the goal and the objectives of the project are met. The advocacy programs included Policy Advocacy, Stakeholders’ Advocacy, Media Advocacy etc. The project was jointly implemented by SAWTEE and ActionAid Nepal. The project was supported by the UNDP Regional Centre in Colombo.
